BELIEVE IN YOU
Take my hand
Walk with me
We don’t have to say a word
I will be
By your side
In all times clear or blurred
It may seem
All is lost
Your thoughts clouded and wary
But I know
You’re strong enough
To make this temporary
CH
I believe in you
I know you roped the moon
And hung the heaven’s stars
There’s nothing you can’t do
I believe in you
To me you’re everything
I know you won’t give up
I know you can get through
Because baby
I believe in you
Take my hand
Walk with me
We don’t have to talk at all
Just let me
Calm your fears
I’’l be with you if you fall
It may seem
There’s no end
I promise we will get through
Time will pass
You will heal
Tomorrow is a day anew
CH
Take my hand
Walk with me
We don’t have to say a thing

CLOSE TO HOME
When it happens
We talk about
How it was “close to home”
Hug our kids as lil tighter
Say love you a lil louder
And then you hear
The latest news
You’re sure they got it wrong
Who would do this awful thing
This time it’s one of our own
CHORUS
A small town’s tears
Spread through the world
Like a tidal wave
And the peace it’s known
Instantly washes away
It never happens here
Always somewhere else
But this time it wasn’t just close
This time It was home
Stunned by the lights
Broadcasting grief
Your private heartbreak and fears
Become today’s breaking news
Home’s peace lost in tragedy
Accusations
Who is to blame
They ask how we missed it
They talk of victims and change
And leave fast as they arrived
CHORUS
Small town, tight knit, like one family
You don’t think it can happen here
Invading your quiet place
With desperation and fear
Trading innocence for terror
Replacing happiness with tears
Washed away in a moment
That never disappears
CHORUS
It never happens here
Always somewhere else
But this time. No this time.
It wasn’t just close to home this time
It was home

FAIRY TALES
Happy endings are for fairy tales
Little girls will never find
Maybe we should tell the truth
Let them make up their own minds
What they hear in story books
Is not what they see daily
‘Cuz our lives don’t mirror the silly lies
While we hope they grow up freely
What we really should be telling them is
CH
No prince is going to save you
Mom and dad live separate lives
Love is not objective
You don’t have to be good wives
When you find the one you love
You’ll probably have to look again
Nothing‘s set in concrete
And you don’t have to live in vain
We fill their heads with falsehoods
Never give it second thoughts
Then wonder why their future lives
Ended up all tied in knots
We only have ourselves to blame
We taught them all this crap
It’s time they hear the truth they see
So they can escape the future trap
We’ve got to start telling them that
CH(2)
No prince is going to save you
Mom and dad love others now
Love is not objective
If it’s over break that vow
When you find the one you love
You’ll probably have to look again
Nothing‘s set in concrete
You don’t have to live in pain
CH(3)
You can only save yourself, yeah
Mom and dad have been through hell
Love is never balanced
There is no magic spell
When you find the prince you love
You’ll probably have to look again
But you can rewrite your story
When you need to now and then
